About West Midlands Safari Lodges

Set within the world-famous West Midlands Safari Park, the Safari Lodges offer one of the UK’s most extraordinary places to stay. Guests wake up alongside some of the planet’s most iconic animals’ lions, elephants, giraffes and rhinos in luxury lodges designed to blend immersive wildlife encounters with genuinely high-end hospitality.

Every detail of the guest experience is considered, and the in-room TV is no exception. From personalised greetings to a dedicated live animal cam, the TV is a core part of what makes a lodge stay feel special. When the team decided their existing system was holding that experience back, they came to us.

The Challenge

The lodges’ previous TV platform was a solid system for its time, few years on, it was showing its age. Customisation was limited to three fixed themes, with an always-on navigation bar that couldn’t be adapted to the lodges’ distinctive branding.

The bigger issue was behind the scenes. The content management system had grown to more than 60 individual pages, and even simple updates like refreshing a food menu, meant editing content scattered across multiple screens. It was slow for staff to manage and, just as importantly, harder than it needed to be for guests to navigate.

The brief was clear: a system that looked as premium as the lodges themselves, was dramatically easier to manage, and opened the door to new revenue and communication features.

The Solution: Our Enterprise Hotel TV System

We proposed our Enterprise Hotel TV platform: a lean, modern system built around three things: an intuitive experience for guests, effortless day-to-day management for staff, and built-in tools for upselling, messaging, security and alerts.

The Design

Working closely with the lodges’ team, we designed the entire interface around their brand guidelines with no generic templates and compromises.

• A cinematic first impression — the landing page opens with a beautiful looping video of the park, instantly setting the tone the moment guests switch on the TV.

• Personalised welcome — linked to the property management system, a welcome page greets each guest by name at check-in and introduces them to the lodges and the park.

• Thematic animal navigation — custom-designed pages bring the safari onto the screen, including bespoke animal facts pages that echo the wildlife just outside the window.

• Simple, elegant menus — clean menu buttons replace the cluttered navigation of the old system, and food menus are now presented as easy-to-update PDFs rather than dozens of separate pages.

• Easy to manage — the entire design can be maintained by the lodges’ own team, with updates taking minutes instead of hours.

More Features: Messaging, Zones, and Smart Communication

Beyond the design, the lodges were quick to see the potential of the platform’s messaging and grouping tools and some genuinely inventive use cases.

• TV grouping by zone — TVs can be organised into information, project and channel groups. The lodges plan to section lodges into zones (for example, Lodges 1–5 as Zone A) so targeted messages can be sent to specific areas, including safety alerts to the relevant zone in the unlikely event of an animal escape.

• Seasonal looks at the flick of a switch — additional themed designs can be built in advance and activated instantly, so a fully Christmas-themed system can go live park-wide in seconds.

• Upselling and cross-selling — pop-ups, tickers, split panes and messages can all be scheduled to appear on specific TVs at specific times, a breakfast offer popping up across Zone A at 9:30am, for example.

• Service requests — guests can request housekeeping, room service and other services directly from the TV, with each request routed by email to the right team.

• User permissions — with multiple teams using the system, access is controlled by role: reception manages check-in and check-out, while the marketing team looks after content and design — everyone sees only what they need.

The Installation

One of the biggest advantages of the platform is how it’s deployed. The upgrade was carried out entirely remotely, with zero disruption to the lodges’ daily operations, no engineers in rooms, no downtime, no impact on guests.

The design itself was a collaboration: we worked hand-in-hand with the lodges’ team to shape every page, then rolled the finished system out instantly across the estate.

The Result

West Midlands Safari Lodges now have an in-room TV experience that matches the ambition of the lodges themselves: beautifully branded, effortless to manage, and packed with features the old system simply couldn’t offer. What was once 60+ pages of hard-to-maintain content is now a lean, intuitive platform that welcomes guests by name, showcases the park’s wildlife, drives additional revenue, and even plays a role in guest safety.

It’s a great example of what happens when a forward-thinking venue meets a platform built for flexibility.

Whether you run a safari lodge, a boutique hotel or a serviced apartment estate, our Enterprise Hotel TV system gives you a stunning, fully branded guest experience that your team can manage in minutes — installed remotely, with zero disruption.
